Widow Christine contemplates remarrying, but feels haunted by her late husband Paul. She meets Alexis, a charming 'medium' who offers to help her communicate with Paul. Then one day during a sceance, Paul's ghost does indeed appear, but it turns out he doesn't exactly have Christine's best interests at heart. Don't be put off by the horrible title. This is a very good movie. I really enjoyed the performances, and I loved the fact that I had no idea how the story was going to play out. You start off thinking its going to be about this poor widow being exploited by a fake medium, and then it turns into something much, much more sinister. Also lovely cinematography. The oily medium, Alexis, is arguably Turhan Bey's best film role. Lynn Bari provides first rate support. It's quite a unique tale and there's hardly a dull moment. I love all the little twists and turns. The actors are very good as well. I like the ending, but it seemed a little rushed. A widow keeps hearing voices and strange goings-on and starts to go to a psychic, who knows more about the widow then almost she does. When we have that all figured out at home, there's more twists to the story, which adds up to the fun. Almost like Gaslight with ghosts, this was a lot of fun actually, the acting is good, the direction good, and the cinematography is quite spooky. Catch this if you can!
